How I’d like to be a Google Doodler some day..

After an awkward post début about lizards being creepy, I’d like to get to less weird topics.
This post is inspired by the amazing Google Doodle Animation for Martha Graham’s 117th birthday by Ryan Woodward. If you haven’t seen it/missed it, please do check it out (the YouTube* video right below. Yep, that one.) and there will be one less regret in your life. 😛

Google Doodles.

Which netizen hasn’t heard of them? Who hasn’t seen them? Who hasn’t stopped to appreciate them and then admire how awesome Google is? (If your answer to those questions is by some wild chance ‘me’, please take a moment to check them out.) Certainly not me. Every time I see the next Google Doodle, I wish I could have one of my own up there some day.

Working with Google, for Google, whatever it is, has sort of become my dream since.. well, that’s unimportant. Anyway, I’ve wanted to do computer/electronics engineering since I was ten… I wasn’t specific about the engineering part, of course, but definitely something to do with technology. Technology, of course is very vast term, in today’s world … but well, let’s just remember I was ten. 😛
Halfway through my fourteenth year though, the engineering narrowed down to Google, and that’s the dream. But even thinking of trying to make the dream come true ..requires a lot of hard work. So obviously, my mind does what it does. It wavers.
And believe it or not, that’s where Google Doodles come in.

It is that particular thing about Google, that magnifies my attraction to it. I realize, the day I get (if I do) a Google Doodle up there (on the Google Homepage, I mean), I would, without doubt, be the happiest person in the Universe.

The worst part is though, there’s a Doodle 4 Google contest, where we can try to get one of our Doodles up there, but that’s open only for U.S Residents. I’m not one ..and that’s why it’d be such a big thing for me. I mean, It’s a well-known law of Universe, the more unreachable something is, the more you want it. So, yeah.

That’s the first step, of course.. If I do, then maybe I’d think about really wanting joining the Doodle Team. Life would be super awesome.

Oh. Yes, At Google, doodling is real work, for people who think otherwise.

In Harry Potter terms (because of course a Harry Potter reference has to be made), as one of the admins on a Facebook page described it:
What would be equivalent to being on a Chocolate Frog Card? – I’d say, getting a Google Doodle.
I have to say, I agree wholeheartedly. 🙂

(On a slightly unrelated note, I really wish they’d create a Google Doodle for Harry Potter. I mean, it is one of the best things that has ever happened to the world.)

(*YouTube = another thing that tells us how awesome Google Inc. is.) 8)

Lizards: Nature still the miraculous thing it’s supposed to be?

Warning: This post is not for lizard-lovers (if there are such people), or I suppose reptile-lovers, in general.

So I discovered a lizard in my room. This huge, fat lizard with bulging bloodshot eyes, wagging its tail and staring at me with the creepy eyes every lizard possesses. Alright I’m exaggerating, obviously. It wasn’t wagging its tail. Lizards don’t wag their tails. Nor did it have bulging bloodshot eyes. Nor was it a huge, fat one. In fact, it was a baby lizard. But, it was not cute, at all, and it was staring at me with creepy eyes. 😐

See those creepy eyes I'm talking about?

See those creepy eyes I'm talking about?

A couple of weeks back I’d discovered a lizard (that was a big one) in my kitchen.. That’s not that bad. You don’t live in your kitchen. But my own room? Who’s the Universe kidding? And who was the Universe kidding when it created creatures like lizards?!

Whether it’s evolution, or God.. or whatever the hell the world-creating superpower’s supposed to be, couldn’t have the lizards been omitted from the plan? All reptiles, for that matter? Or maybe just home lizards? This is just unfair. I know life’s not supposed to be fair, but that unfair? Even God can’t be that inhuman. And God’s supposed to be nice! :O

Thanks to the stupid lizard, I have now shifted to the other room for tonight’s sleep. 😐
I mean, look at its nerve – it’s coming into my house (well, my parents’, but that’s not important), in my room, and driving me out of there! And it’s like, five hundred times smaller than me. Yes yes, size is no guarantee of power (I mean, look at Ginny Weasley :P), but still.

It’s not it’s doing something to me, the lizard.. but that doesn’t matter. It’s more like the fact that it exists.. you know? (Lizards are to humans like me what Severus Snape was to James Potter, and what spiders are to Ron Weasley.) It’s basically just … creepy. There’s really no other word for it.

Although most of my friends hate lizards as much as me.. reading this post again does make me wonder if I’m over-reacting? Actually, I’m not. If I’ll go and see it I’ll probably freak out once again. I don’t think I’m over-reacting. I think I finally figured out what my Boggart would be. 😐

But do all of you hate/are scared of them as much as me? Anybody with any good suggestions on how to get over this or how to keep them away? 😦
I’ve heard peacock feathers keep lizards away. That true? I’ll get a pet peacock if that’s what it takes.

How does one expect me to sleep, knowing there’s a lizard on the ceiling above, ready to fall on my face if its grip breaks? (Alright I know that can’t possibly happen.. but it can! :O)

I wish for a world without reptiles…
Okay since that might spoil the ecological balance and everything, I’ll tone my wish down a bit for the greater good. 8)
I wish for a world without home lizards… :/

Do you? 😛

Update: 10 Most Disturbing Animals on Earth. Never thought I’d be saying this, but.. they make the lizards look almost okay.. :O
